Charity L Simpson, MS, LAPC, NCC, MDiv
Charity is a collaborative, relational-oriented counselor who seeks to support individuals within their current context. She integrates humanistic, existential, and systems theories with cognitive, behavioral, and solution-focused techniques. Charity seeks to work with clients to identify strengths, better utilize available resources, and work through challenges that pose obstacles to fulfilling life and relationships. In addition to traditional talk therapy, Charity integrates practices of mindfulness and creative approaches such as art, music, experiential, sand tray, and play therapies.
Charity obtained her psychology degree from Hendrix College before moving to Atlanta where she earned her Master of Divinity at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. Charity grounded her academic work in community based ministries such as Crossroads Community Ministries, Oakhurst Baptist Church, and Genesis Family Shelter. After graduating and serving as program developer and administrator in the non-profit sector, Charity returned to school to earn her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. Charity completed her training at Genesis Family Shelter and Compass Consulting. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Charity not only serves as staff counselor at Compass Consulting, but under the direction of Dr. Petronella, she facilitates various workshops at our office and in our community.
